Miami Summer Wish List
I’ve gone through dozens of summer must have lists and resort wear blogs and have yet to have found anything I would EVER wear in Miami. The weather here is special. Not only is it hot, it’s also sticky! And it can rain at a drop of a hat. So I’ve put together a short list of my own, the Miami Summer Wish List.

Prada Banana Madness
I often ask myself “who are designers designing for?” Take this ridiculous PRADA banana print blouse from their Spring 2012 collection. Who in their right mind would wear this? The fabric is adorable for a reusable bag to take to the grocery store.
Why?? Good Lord why?! Would anyone wear this?

Last week I came upon the most hilarious post in New Yorker Magazine on being fabulous and French- Vive La France, by Paul Rudnick. He writes,
“The French woman is known for being effortlessly chic. I have, in fact, offered tutorials on elegance to American women. I will hand an American an Hermès scarf and ask her to tie it somewhere on her body, anywhere but around her neck.”
Where, if not around my neck, would I ever wear a scarf? Definitely not on my head. I wore it a few times as a top but that was at least 10 years ago. Last night, it was just a touch brisk and I whipped out my $35 Zara scarf and wrapped it two times around my neck a-la turtleneck. Maybe just a little ridiculous in a spaghetti strap black top but I felt very Coco Chanel sans the perfect black jacket. Maybe I should have used my “little-old-lady” sweater.
